I think a lot of us know or have known someone that puts everyone else above themselves. We also get to see that what we think we know isn't always the case. Sometimes parents hide the pain they are suffering from their kids and we don't know about it until something gives. I loved seeing other characters from this series as well. I really enjoy getting to meet multiple people from one town, covered under multiple books. You get to see those characters you loved so much from one book carried over to other books and you can follow them on their continued journey.
