Review Kicki's book is warm, real, gentle and tough when it needs to be. Written from the heart and from her experiences as a doula, The Secrets of Birth takes a non-judgemental look at childbirth and encourages women to work out what's best for them. A book that can be your friend and companion through pregnancy and birth. --Rebecca Schiller - writer, campaigner, doula It is lovely so see books written about birth with a positive empowering standpoint. Encouraging women to really examine what it is they want and reminding them that they have the right to choose and be respected in these choices needs to be to first thing we communicate to women. Kicki does this right up front. I love the reminder that childbirth is a physiological event. Kicki then explains why and how this amazing physiological event unfolds. There are lots of tips and suggestion as well as several engaging stories. This is an easy to read book that will leave you feeling positive about birth. --Dr Hannah Dahlen - Professor of Midwifery, University of Western Sydney The kindness, warmth and practicality that is inherent in Kicki's nature breathe life into this book. A long awaited account of what every mother needs to know. A comfort to all, a must read and the holistic view really helped give me a sense of wholeness to the birthing experience.
