I am a fan of strong female characters, so to have Sophia Dennison as a female superhuman is a delight. Ewers definitely gives a freshness and visceral vibrancy to his female lead. The storyline is interesting and adrenaline-pumping, as if I was reading a superhero comic book turn into an exciting supernatural thriller. The pace of the story is fast, which is an added bonus to plot. Ewers also has a knack for vivid storytelling.
